The Founder

Hello! I am Irena Ivovic - founder and principal designer of IRIV DESIGN. I hold a master's degree in architecture and diverse experience across various sectors. Before establishing IRIV DESIGN, I gained valuable experience working on diverse projects, including residential complexes, hospitality venues, and commercial and office buildings, as well as extensive fit-out and renovation projects.

Our Design Philosophy

Our design philosophy centers around diversity in project types and sectors to avoid repetitiveness, user-oriented approach for delivering the best final product and overall experience, full transparency in the process and fee structure, embracing technology through the use of BIM and offering complementary CGIs, and accommodating client's budgets without sacrificing quality.

We believe that by following these principles, we can deliver tailored and exceptional design solutions to our clients that not only meet but exceed their expectations while also contributing to a more sustainable future.

What inspired me to start my own practice is the ability to choose the projects that truly resonate with me, connect with clients on a personal level, and take on exciting challenges that drive my entrepreneurial spirit. I love meeting all kinds of people and constantly seeking new experiences that broaden my skills and perspective. By blending creativity, expertise, and a client-centered approach, my goal is to create remarkable designs that leave a lasting impact and bring joy to those who experience them.
With a Masters degree in Architecture and completion of a Part 3 course from the esteemed AA School in London, my formal training is rooted in architecture. However, my practical experience primarily revolves around renovation and commercial fit-out projects in Central London. Consequently, my current focus is on interior design and interior architecture, while still undertaking at least one architectural project annually – ensuring a well-rounded approach to my design portfolio.
When I made the decision to launch IRIV DESIGN, I was determined to establish a practice built on five fundamental pillars. These pillars include a client-centric approach, fostering long-term relationships, upholding professional integrity, prioritizing sustainability, and implementing value engineering. Architecture and design belong to the realm of humanities, and as such, should be accessible to all. It is my conviction that design should enrich people’s lifestyles, simplify their lives, and never be pretentious or discriminatory in nature.
In simple terms, I ensure that my design concepts reflect the client’s needs and lifestyle by actively listening and conducting thorough interviews at the beginning of each project. I believe that as a designer, it is my responsibility to understand the unique aspects that stem from differences in daily life, culture, values, and personal taste. I do not believe in imposing a “signature design” because I recognize that our role as educated designers is to skillfully bring to life a diverse range of visions.
When considering sustainability, it is crucial to adopt a holistic approach that encompasses the entire lifecycle of a building. This involves not only assessing the composition of materials but also scrutinizing the production process, transportation impact, emissions, and the potential for recycling and reusing. Additionally, I strongly endorse the “repair not replace” philosophy whenever it is suitable, as it further promotes sustainability by extending the lifespan of existing materials and components.
